July 14, 2025

SEASIDE, Calif. — Ten Cal State Monterey Bay softball student-athletes added to their resumés by earning All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

To earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, a player must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Sophomore Karissa Gralnick (Newbury Park HS) led the way for CSUMB with a perfect 4.0 gpa as a psychology major. Freshman Mikaya Griego (Diamond Bar HS) and senior Summer Voth (Calabasas HS) were right behind Gralnick. Griego carries a 3.93 GPA as a kinesiology major while Voth earned her degrees in marine science and biology with a 3.92 mark.

"Balancing sport and academics is a huge responsibility, and I'm proud of our Otters for excelling on and off the field," says CSUMB Head Coach Emily Montañez.
