SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay track & field team once again had a split weekend as the Otters competed at the Mt. SAC Relays and the Johnny Mathis Invitational.
JOHNNY MATHIS
The Otters got off to a fast start as
Hannah Amundsen won the 3,000m steeple with a PR of 11:28.95.
Cozette Wood and
Natalie Harper followed in sixth and seventh, respectively.
In the 400m hurdles,
Taylar Yost placed third with a time of 68.76.
Cassidy Andreadakis followed in fifth at 73.05.
In the 5,000m,
Mariessa McLaughlin hit a PR by finishing 12
th with a time of 18:55.82.
Mt. SAC
Freshman
Rachel Hoops finished 19
th in a highly contested 800m, crossing the line at 2:14.45. The newcomer then ran a 4:43.37 to place 14
th in the 1,500m. In the men's 1,500m,
Erik Bromley placed seventh overall with a time of 3:56.65.
Senior
Jaime Gonzalez posted a huge PR in the 5,000m, clocking a 14:23.53 to finish eighth.
Daniela Munguia placed 13
th in the women's 5,000m with an 18:21.09.
The Otters will now prepare for the CCAA Championships that will begin on May 1 at Stanislaus State.
