SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay track & field team once again saw times drop as the squad closed out March at the Mangrum Invitational.
"The teams are continuing to roll through a strong season," CSUMB head coach
Greg Rhines said. "We have had some strong teams and competitors resulting in impressive results. I can hardly wait until next week."
Newcomer
Rachel Hoops followed her record-setting performance last week by placing 10
th this time around in the grueling 800m with a time of 2:19.37. Hoops also dropped a 4:50.92 in the 1,500m to place 19
th.
Ali Keith was right behind in 21
st at 4:51.67.
In the 400m hurdles,
Taylar Yost stayed steady with a 1:07.93 to place 10
th and
Cassidy Andreadakis followed in 11
th with a 1:10.57.
Cozette Wood ran a PR in the 3,000m steeple, building off a great performance last week in Sacramento, clocking an 11:40.90 to place 15
th.
Hannah Amundsen followed in 16
th at 11:57.86.
Natalie Harper posted a 12:14.81 to finish 19
th.
On the men's side
Erik Bromley continues his impressive freshman campaign by clocking a 1:56.39 to place seventh in the 800m. Teammate
Cameron Cornforth also ran a sub-2:00 by crossing the line 13
th with a time of 1:59.19. Bromley closed out his meet with a 15:14.09 in the 5,000m.
Jaime Gonzalez nearly ran a sub-4:00 in the 1,500m, posting a 4:01.75 to place 25
th overall.
William Trowbridge paced the Otters in the 3,000m steeple with a time of 10:36.35 to place 15
th.
The Otters have a busy weekend ahead as they will compete in the Mike Fanelli Classic and the Stanford Invitational.
