Three Otters Earn Academic All-District Honors

Doherty, Slocum and Beaumont nab CSC accolade

SEASIDE, Calif. - Three Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball student-athletes earned recognition for their achievements on the court and in the classroom by being selected to the Academic All-District Basketball teams by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Senior Ella Doherty headlines the trio and is joined by juniors Jordan Beaumont and A'ajah Slocum.
 
Doherty, an All-CCAA honorable mention selection started all 23 games she played and paced the Otters with 12.8 points per game. She also recorded 5.4 rebounds per game and shot at a team-high 47-percent clip. The Scotland native poured in 37 points against Lincoln University, which was the second highest single-game scoring performance in program history.
 
In the classroom, the University of Toledo transfer showcased a 3.95 grade point average as a business management major.
 
Beaumont played in 27 games and made 20 starts. The junior led the Otters with 32 three-pointers made and averaged 3.9 points per game. She handed out 38 assists and recorded 16 steals.
 
Off the court she boasts a 3.97 gpa and will graduate with a degree in psychology.
 
Slocum played in 24 games and made 19 starts and averaged 7.2 points per game, while grabbing 5.2 rebounds per contest. The junior paced the Otters with 74 assists and 32 steals. Slocum maintains a 3.5 gpa in psychology.
