SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay got off to a fast start following their senior day ceremonies Saturday against No. 16 Cal Poly Pomona, but the Broncos withstood the surge and held off the Otters to earn a 75–59 win in the Kelp Bed.

The game marked the final Otter appearances for Otter seniors Jordan Beaumont (San Mateo/Aragon HS), Ella Doherty (Powmill, Scotland) and Sha'nece Garrett (Sonora HS/Merced College). All three of them made big plays in helping the Otters lead for the first nine minutes of regulation.

But the Broncos took the lead with the last bucket of the first quarter and never gave it back. Pomona got the lead to double digits for the first time with a buzzer-beater to end the first half and kept its advantage in the 10 to 17 point range for the balance of the game.

Junior Jayden McNeal (Boise, Id./Borah HS) led CSUMB with 13 points and six rebounds. Garrett chipped in 12 points and Doherty added nine.
