Germain In Top 10 As Round 2 Called Due to Darkness

Otter sophomore will begin Tuesday at top of board

SEASIDE, Calif. -- Cal State Monterey Bay sophomore Simon Germain (Lyon, France) will begin play Tuesday in seventh place after play was halted due to darkness during round two of the Otter Invitational Monday at Bayonet Golf Course.

Germain shot a tournament-best 3-under 69 in the morning round and was 5-over in the afternoon. Fellow Otter sophomore George Goff (Orlando, Fla./Gardner-Webb University) also earned a spot in the Top 20 in 19th place at 6-over after carding rounds of 73 and 77.

As a team, CSUMB is in 12th place entering play Tuesday at 36 over through 36 holes. Western Washington, which was still on the course when play was halted Monday, owns the lead as of Monday evening at 18-over.

Play at the Otter Invitational will continue Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with the completion of the second round. Play will flow directly into the thrid round from that point.
