Berg von Linde, Owen Highlight All-CCAA Golf Team

Berg von Linde is Newcomer of the Year, Owen is Coach of the Year

SEASIDE, Calif. — Junior Wilhelm Berg von Linde earned Newcomer of the Year honors and Head Coach Jason Owen was named Coach of the Year to highlight the announcement of the 2024 All-CCAA Men's Golf Team, announced Monday.

Junior Simon Björken also found a spot on the All-CCAA first team, marking his third first team all-league selection in his three seasons as an Otter.

Berg von Linde, a transfer from Augusta University, was the runner-up at last week's CCAA Championship Tournament. He becomes the fourth Otter to be named newcomer of the year after finishing the regular season with a 71.79 stroke average and six Top 10 finishes (two Top 5) in 10 events this season.

Owen earned his second CCAA Coach of the year nod after leading the Otters to their fifth CCAA title since 2010. CSUMB won three tournament titles this season, including the CCAA Championship, and will enter next week's NCAA Regional as the top seed from the West Region.

Björken, the medalist at last week's CCAA Championship, becomes the third player in Otter history to be named All-CCAA three times. He joins Anton Rosen and Alex Sobstad in that exclusive club.

Björken leads CSUMB with a 71.26 stroke average. He owns three tournament wins this season, taking first at The Battle In The Desert, The Hanny and the CCAA Championship.
CSUMB continues its season next week at the NCAA West/South Central Regional May 9–11 at the New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces.
