SEASIDE — The Cal State Monterey Bay men's golf team qualified for its 14th consecutive NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional as the No. 1 seed out of the West Region, the NCAA announced Friday.
CSUMB will head to the New Mexico State University Golf Course for the 54-hole tournament, May 9–11 in Las Cruces. The Otters will be looking to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament for the eighth time in 15 seasons and the first time since they finished fifth in 2019.
The Otters have won three NCAA Regional titles, wearing the crown in 2011, 2013 and 2015. John Jackson won the individual title in 2011 en route to CSUMB's first NCAA Championship. Ray Richards also took first place in 2015.
CSUMB is coming off its fifth CCAA Championship with a victory earlier this week at Santa Rosa Country Club. It was CSUMB's third team title of the season. Simon Björken took medalist honors and Wilhelm Berg von Linde finished second to earned all-tournament recognition.
