Berg von Linde, Björken Earn Top 10 Finishes

CSUMB places second at Fujikura Invitational

VISTA, Calif. — Wilhelm Berg von Linde and Simon Björken earned Top 10 finishes to lead the Cal State Monterey Bay men's golf team to a second place finish at the Fujikura Invitational Tuesday at Shadowridge Golf Club.

Berg von Linde shot 3–over in Tuesday's final round to earn a share of sixth place at 2–under 214. Björken rallied from an opening round 78 to card scores of 68 and 69, finishing at 1–under, good for 10th place.

As a team, CSUMB grinded out a 294 Tuesday and finished second overall at 2–under. Cal State East Bay, the only team in the red during the final round (–2), finished three strokes ahead of the Otters.

In addition to Berg von Linde and Björken, Will Musson (Clovis North HS) shot 74 and Tommy Kimberling (Rancho Cucamonga/Los Osos HS) shot 75 to close the Otter scoreline Tuesday. Kimberling finished at 1–over for the tournament, good for a share of 15th place.

The Otters will take next week off before returning to action Feb. 26–28 at the Desert Invitational on the Rams Hill Country Club Course in Borrego Springs.
