Jackie Wahl, Ruby Ennis Named All–CCAA

Otter duo become 10th, 11th All-CCAA picks under Courtney Materazzi

November 19, 2024

SEASIDE, Calif. — The past and future of Cal State Monterey Bay volleyball received well deserved recognition Tuesday when senior outside hitter Jackie Wahl (Palm Desert HS) and freshman setter Ruby Ennis (Lakeside/El Capitan HS) were named to the All–CCAA volleyball team as voted on by the conference coaches.

Wahl was a second team selection while Ennis was an honorable mention pick. It was the first such recognition for both players.

"I'm so thrilled Jackie and Ruby were recognized by the CCAA coaches for their work and contributions on the court," says CSUMB Head Coach Courtney Materazzi, herself an All–CCAA honoree as an Otter senior in 2007.

"Jackie has been relentless in her work ethic all four years, putting in time on and off the court to reach her goals. Ruby came in and was given a huge responsibility early, going from running a 6–2 to a 5–1 in the middle of season. Her location, decision making and results behind the service line are so impressive. Congratulations to them both."

Wahl ends her collegiate career with her named peppered throughout the Otter record book. She leaves CSUMB ranked No. 13 in career kills, No. 11 in attack attempts, #22 in aces and No. 23 in digs. Her 317 kills in 2024 rank No. 12 on the single-season list.

Although she's just getting started, Ennis already is etching her name in the history books. She ranks No. 12 on the CSUMB career assist list while her 482 helpers in 2024 are No. 17 on the single-season list.

With the addition of Wahl and Ennis, 11 Otters now have earned volleyball All-CCAA honors since Materazzi returned to coach at her alma mater in 2020. That is the most over a 4-year period in Otter volleyball history.
