SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team begins its final regular season roadtrip with a visit to Stanislaus State Saturday (Feb. 12) for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.

CSUMB (11–5 overall, 10–3 CCAA) enters the weekend tied for second place in the CCAA race and looking to solidify its position in the 6–team CCAA Tournament field. Staniding in its way is a Stanislaus team that has played its best ball of the season over the past few weeks.

The Otters continued the best start in their CCAA history (2005–present) by improving to 10–3 in conference play by sweeping Humboldt and Sonoma last week. Prior to this season, CSUMB's best CCAA record through 13 games with 7–6 during the 2008–09 seasons.

The last time these teams met, the Otters shook off the rust from its unplanned, 2–week hiatus with a 61–51 win over Stanislaus State Jan. 20 in The Kelp Bed. Kyle Johnson led the way with a 13–point, 11–rebound double–double while Jailen Nelson came off the bench to match Johnson's 13 points. Nelson also chipped in a game–high four assists. Tony Singleton led all scorers with 17 points for the Warriors.

Stanislaus jumped to an early 11–5 lead but CSUMB responded with a 12–0 run that put the Otters in front to stay.
