SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of The Kelp Bed for its 2002–23 home openers when it hosts the Otter Invitational Nov. 18–19.

CSUMB (1–1 overall) will play the University of Alaska Friday (Nov. 18) at 7 p.m. and Colorado School of Mines Saturday (Nov. 19) at 5 p.m. The other tournament games will feautre Cal State East Bay vs. Mines Friday at 5 p.m. and East Bay vs. Alaska Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Otters are coming off a season–opening split the the GNAC/CCAA Challenge in Monmouth Oregon last weekend. They opened with a 77–57 win over Central Washington — their first-ever vs. the Wildcats — before falling to host Western Oregon 87–80.
