SAN RAMON, Calif. -- After putting in strong seasons on the pitch, Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer player
Adrian Rebollar and women's soccer player
Karlee Neer were rewarded for their efforts by the coaches of the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The freshman and junior, respectively, received All-CCAA Honorable Mention honors as announced by the CCAA Thursday.
Rebollar burst onto the scene by opening his freshman campaign with a goal in each of the first two games. The Watsonville native ended the season with three goals, two of which were game-winners. His three goals were good for second on the team.
"Adrian is an incredible person on and off the field," says Head Coach
Shane Carew. "He gives maximum effort in everything he does and we are proud to have him at CSUMB."
Neer continued to lead the women's soccer team from the back line, showing her drive and grittiness in each game. Not only was she second on the team in minutes played (1,634) but she netted her second career goal in a 6-1 win over Saint Martin's to being the season.
"Our soccer family is excited and proud that Karlee was recognized by the CCAA coaches," says Head Coach
Laura VanWart. "She is one of the grittiest players that I have ever coached and I was proud of her performance this season. I can't wait to see what she leads the team to accomplish in 2018."
Neer becomes the ninth Otter women's player in the last six season to earn All-CCAA accolades while Rebollar extends the program's streak to seven years with at least one All-CCAA player.
