TEAM-BY-TEAM RESULTS l TEAM & INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARDS

POWAY, Calif. – Cal State Monterey Bay senior Dylan Jackson (San Diego/La Jolla HS) fired a final-round 70 to lead the Otters to a sweep of the team and individual titles at UC San Diego's 64th SoCal Intercollegiate Championship Tuesday afternoon at the Maderas Golf Club.
 
As a team, the Otters fired a score of 294 and finished at 29-over-par 893.  CSUMB shared the tournament's best team round with third place St. Mary's of Texas (916).  The Otters finished 14 strokes ahead of the 16th-ranked Warriors of Cal State Stanislaus (907). 
 
The Otters, who are ranked No. 4 in the latest GolfWorld/Nike Golf Division II Coaches' Poll, captured its third team title of the 2013-14 season after winning Golfweek Invitational (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) and their own Otter Invitational (Oct. 21-22).
 
"It was great to get another win today," said Head Coach Jason Owen. "I feel like the team chemistry this week was essential in us playing better, actually getting over the hump and winning a tournament."
 
Jackson finished with a even-par 216, winning by a five-stroke margin. He made birdies on holes eight, 10, 11 and 17 on his way to his second career medalist title, a win in 2011 at the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational. 
 
Junior Brandon Hortt (San Diego/SDSU), sophomore Ray Richards (Tualatin, Ore.) and Jaskaran Sihota of Stanislaus finished at 5-over-par 221 with a share of second place.  Hortt shot a tournament-low 69 in the final round to jump from eighth place.  Richards tied his best collegiate round (72) for his highest finish as an Otter.
 
Freshman Nick Huff (Vancouver, Wash./Hockinson HS) and sophomore Carr Vernon (Poplar Bluff, Mo.)  finished in a five-way tie for 21st with a 237.
 
"Congrats to Dylan on an excellent finish and getting the second career win," Owen said. "I hope this carries over as we head to Phoenix in three weeks."
 
Next up for the Otters is the Mustang Intercollegiate hosted by Western New Mexico April 7-8 at Palm Valley Golf Course.
