TURLOCK, Calif. — The roadtrip shooting woes continued for the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team Friday night as the Otters shot a season–low 22 percent from the floor in an 81–47 loss at Cal State Stanislaus in Fitzpatrick Arena.

CSUMB has now shot just 27.7 percent from the floor through the first three games of the trip. Friday night, the Otters went 16:05 without a field goal in one stretch, going without a bucket between Josephine Vieira's (San Jose/Ohlone College) put–back with 11:54 remaining in the first half and her layup with 15:08 remaining in the second.

Things began on a positive note for the Otters, who raced to a 7–0 lead in the first four minutes. A Holly Holcomb (Ventura/Buena HS) free throw gave the Otters their final lead at 15–14 with 10 minutes remaining in the opening period, but the wheels had already begun to fall of the wagon by then.

CSUMB made 3–of–6 from the field to open the game before finishing the first half on a 2–of–23 run. The Otters missed their final 15 shots of the first half and their first six of the second as Stanislaus built its lead to 51–18.

Rather than fold their tents, the Otters battled through that spell, potentially building momentum for Saturday's roadtrip finale in Chico, by out–scoring the Warriors 29–23 over the final 12:07 of regulation. Included in that run was a 13–of–15 effort from the free–throw line, CSUMB's best stretch from the line this season.

All 11 Otters in uniform scored Friday night, a first for CSUMB this season. Senior forward Ashley Morgan (Rohnert Park/Santa Rosa JC) led the way with 11 points, her team–leading fifth double figure scoring game of the season. Morgan shared game–high rebounding honors with Alexous Robinson (Dublin/Ohlone College), finishing with eight.

CSUMB concludes its 4–game roadtrip Saturday night at Chico State. The Otters return home to host San Francisco State Jan. 24 in The Kelp Bed.
