Ohlone College
Josephine “Jo” Vieira joins the Otters from Ohlone College, where she teamed with fellow CSUMB newcomer Alexous Robinson in earning all–conference honors as a sophomore last season….averaged 8.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game…finished seventh among Coast Conference–South players in field goal percentage (44.2) and blocks (21)…matched her season high of 17 points four times, including her final three appearances of 2013…posted a double–double (10 points, 11 rebounds) in a season–opening win over Sierra College (Nov. 10)…had 12 points and a season–high 14 boards in a win at Hartnell College (Jan. 30).
High School
Vieira earned team MVP and first team All–Santa Theresa League honors as a junior and senior at San Jose’s Del Mar High School…led the Dons by averaging 11.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game as a senior…included in that was a 26–point, 15–rebound performance against Independence HS (Jan. 21, 2011) and a career–high 17–rebound night at Leland HS (Jan. 25, 2011)…also averaged 10.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as a junior in 2010…lettered in volleyball for the Dons as well.
Personal
Vieira is majoring in kinesiology and plans to minor in sociology at CSUMB.
