SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay volleyball team will get its final preconference workout this weekend when it heads to the Bay area for the Route 92 Classic Friday and Saturday.
The Otters will play two matches in Belmont Friday, meeting co–host
Notre Dame de Namur at 1 p.m. and
Holy Names University at 5 p.m. CSUMB will head across the bay Saturday to take on
Academy of Art at 9 a.m. and
Azusa Pacific University at 3 p.m. in Cal State East Bay's Pioneer Gym.

CSUMB brings a 3–1 record and the reigning CCAA Player of the Week, junior outside hitter
Julia Ashen (North Salinas HS), into the tournament. Ashen compiled 101 kills and 70 digs while earning all–tournament honors at the Otter Volleyball Classic last weekend in The Kelp Bed. She was an all–tournament pick at last season's Route 92 Classic as well.
The Otters return home to open
California Collegiate Athletic Association play next week when they welcome
Chico State and
Cal State Stanislaus on Sept. 20–21.
