BOX SCORE STOCKTON, Calif. – The No. 7 Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team couldn't stop a solid hitting Cal State L.A. team, falling to the Golden Eagles 14-3 in the second elimination game of the CCAA Tournament at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, Calif.
CSUMB (37-15) will head home to await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field Sunday at 7 p.m. The Otters entered the week No. 1 in the West Region and are in a solid position to receive their first NCAA tournament bid.
Like they did against Chico State on Friday, the Otters quickly took a 1-0 lead in their first at-bat. Senior

Ronnie Fhurong (Hollister/San Benito HS) single that deflected off the pitcher. Senior

In the fourth, the Golden Eagles claimed a 2-1 lead with back-to-back RBI singles by Ryan Cooperstone and Niko Garcia before Manny Acosta grounded into a 463 double play.
CSULA made it 5-1 in the next frame, taking advantage of five hits and two CSUMB errors.
