Junior RHP Chris Daniels earns fourth win of 2013 with 7-2 victory at CSUDH.

Chris Daniels (Citrus Heights, Calif./Sierra College) (4-2) pitched seven innings and
Rickey Guerrero (Stockton, Calif./UOP) shut the door on the final six outs as No. 21-ranked Cal State Monterey Bay (19-8, 11-6 CCAA) won the series opener at Cal State Dominguez Hills (13-13, 10-11 CCAA) 7-2 on Friday afternoon at Toro Field.
The Otters were one hit away from reaching double digits for the 15th time this season. Seniors
Victor Rasor-Thompson (San Diego, Calif./Univ. of San Diego) and
David Garcia (Gilroy, Calif./Mission College) both went 2-for-4 to lead the Otters.
All nine Otters contributed to the win at the plate with a hit, a run or an RBI.
Daniels gave up two runs on five hits with six strikeouts. CSUDH's Dimitri Delafuente went the first six innings, allowing three runs – all recorded as unearned - to take the loss.
Never trailing in the conference match-up, the Otters spread out the seven runs in four innings while doubling up in the second and three in the eighth.
The Otters plated two in the second inning on a Toro error and a passed ball. CSUDH answered in the fourth by scoring a run on a 463 double play.
The Otters and Toros traded runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to make it 4-2 CSUMB.
CSUMB pulled away in the eighth thanks to RBI double by Garcia and Rasor-Thompson's 2 RBI single to make it 6-2. Senior
Tommy George (Elk Grove, Calif./Elk Grove HS) scored the final run a one-out triple and touched home after a wild pitch.
CSUDH's Ivory Thomas had a team-best 2-for-4 outing with a double.
CSUMB resumes the four-game series against the Toros on Saturday, March 23 with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m..
