SUNRIVER, Ore.
– The No. 6 Cal State Monterey Bay men's golf team coasted to its first win of the season in a 20-stroke victory in the Golfweek Fall Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Sunriver Resort-Crosswater Club.

Junior Brandon Hortt (San Diego/SDSU) stayed on top of the leaderboard to earn the individual medalist honor with a 1-over 217 (76-68-73) while first round leader senior Dylan Jackson (San Diego/La Jolla HS) placed second at 6-over 222 (67-78-77).

"Today wasn't our best, but we got the job done," said CSUMB Head Coach Jason Owen. "It was another good tournament for Brandon and Dylan, just what I am expecting of them."

Hortt played steady golf to maintain his lead by countering four bogeys with three birdies to finish five strokes ahead of Jackson. Hortt collected 13 birdies in the 54-hole event.

Jackson held off charging Justin Wiles of Chico State and Dallas Baptist's Kyle Beard for second with a near perfect back nine featuring only one bogey on 17.  In his opening round, Jackson carded his second lowest round of his collegiate career (67) that also featured his second career hole-in-one.  His lowest round (66) was in the final match of the 2011 NCAA Championships where he aced the 13th hole and brought home CSUMB's first ever national title.

Freshman Fredrik Jullum (Lørenskog, Norway) finished his first collegiate tournament tied for
