BOX SCORE
TURLOCK, Calif. — The No. 16 Cal State Monterey Bay softball team got solid efforts from its entire pitching staff Saturday to win two more games at the Tournament of Champions presented by Mizuno at Pedretti Park.

Dodging raindrops that delayed play for nearly three hours, CSUMB (27-8) defeated Hawaii-Hilo 6-2 and Central Washington 3-1 to advance to the Gold (Championship) Bracket where the Otters will face Saint Martin's College at 12:15 p.m. Sunday. The winner of that game will face the winner of Cal State San Bernardino and Grand Canyon for the Tournament of Champions Championship.

Senior Caitlin Wallace (Beaverton, Ore./College of the Redwoods) fanned five in 3 1/3 innings against Hawaii-Hilo, before handing the ball to sophomore Kylie Linnane (Salinas/Notre Dame HS) and freshman Cori Reinhardt (Riverside Poly HS), who tossed 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Linnane earned her ninth win and Reinhardt picked up her first collegiate save.

In the nightcap, three Otter pitchers combined on a two-hitter as CSUMB avenged an early season upset to Central Washington. Senior Jessica Moon (Torrance HS) got the start and fanned four Wildcats in three innings. Linnane followed with three hitless innings to improve to 10-2 while Reinhardt threw a perfect seventh, fanning pinch hitter Kim Kocik to end the game for her second save of the day.

Offensively, freshman Nina Villanueva (San Diego/Mt. Carmel HS) hit safely in both games, driving in a run against Hawaii-Hilo, her 41st of the season, to move with three of Shea Olds' CSUMB single season record. Junior outfielder Angelina Orozco (Clovis East HS) also hit safely in both games, adding her sixth triple of the season to tie Reinhardt for the NCAA Division II lead.

Junior second baseman Alyssa Rivera (San Jose CC) enjoyed her best offensive day as an Otter, going 3-for-3 against Hawaii-Hilo before driving in a run against Central Washington.
