BOX SCORE
LOS ANGELES — The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team literally gave away a game Saturday night, committing 30 turnovers in a 75–56 loss to Cal State L.A. in the Eagles' Nest.
The 30 turnovers were not only the most of the season, they were the most in the
Rob Bishop era of Otter basketball and the second most all–time at CSUMB. They committed 19 of those in the first half, allowing CSULA to race to a 40–20 lead at intermission.
To their credit, the Otters came out of the lockerroom in the second half battling. CSUMB cut the deficit to 12 points at 46–34 early in the second half and had two possessions to get the lead to single digits. But Bussey Ellis knocked down a pair of threes for CSULA to put the Golden Eagles firmly back in control.
