Otters Fall To No. 10 CSULA, 5-1

LOS ANGELES
– The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team fell 5-1 to No. 10 Cal State L.A. on Friday night at Reeder Field.

The Otters drop to 12-17 overall and 9-11 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action.

Sophomore #Tyler Young# led the CSUMB offense, going 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Golden Eagles scored on a ground out in the second inning.

The Otters tied the game in the fourth when senior #Greg Fujii# drew a walk, took second on a wild pitch, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a base hit by junior #Danny Nelson#.

CSULA's Noe Flores hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning to put the Golden Eagles ahead 3-1. 

The Golden Eagles took advantage of three CSUMB errors in the seventh inning to extend their lead to 5-1 and clinch the victory.

Senior Scott Tully took the loss after giving up three earned runs and striking out four batters. CSULA's Goodline picked up his fourth win of the season.

CSUMB will continue the series with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
