LOS ANGELES – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team clinched a doubleheader split with No. 10 Cal State L.A. on Saturday at Reeder Field. The Otters pulled off the 5-2 win in 11 innings in game one before dropping the nightcap, 1-0.
The Otters are 13-10 overall and 10-12 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play.
CSUMB outhit the Golden Eagles 16-11 with junior #Chris Lopiccolo# and sophomore #Ronnie Fhurong# each recording three hits for the day.
The Otters wrap up the series with the Golden Eagles on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Golden Eagles scored a run in both the first and second innings.
The Otters got on the board in the third inning, with three consecutive singles.
In the ninth, Lopiccolo led off with a single through the right side. Pinch running for Lopiccolo, senior #Ron Duer# moved 90 feet twice on back-to-back ground balls and scored on a wild pitch.
The Otters broke through for three runs in the top of the 11th to clinch the victory. Sophomore
Nolan Murray drove in the winning run on a single through the middle. Sophomore #Tyler Young# and senior #Greg Fujii# each doubled down the lines to score two insurance runs.
Sophomore #Jake Paolinetti# earned the win in relief and junior #Paul Brock# picked his fourth save of the year.

The lone run came in the fifth inning on Chad Nacapoy's single that scored Chris Matzner who drew a leadoff walk.
