SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team held on to a 2-1 lead to split with Cal State San Bernardino on Friday afternoon at Fiscalini Field.
The Otters are now 17-22 overall and 14-16 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action.
Six Otters had two hits on the day with senior #Greg Fujii# recording the only double for CSUMB.
CSUMB concludes the series on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The opening game featured four lead changes.
The Coyotes took a 1-0 lead after Ethan Chapman hit a leadoff homer in the first inning.
CSUMB answered with two runs in the third, scoring on junior #Danny Nelson#'s ground out and junior #Jared DeCastro#'s single.
San Bernardino regained the lead on Brandon Day's bases-loaded triple to make it 4-2.
The Otters cut the gap to one run in the fifth inning on Nelson's RBI single that scored freshman
Tyler Soto, 4-3 CSUSB.
In the sixth inning, CSUMB went back on top after posting two more runs. Sophomore #Tony Hernandez# led off with a single and advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Hernandez scored on Fujii's double down the left line. Nelson once again stepped up for the Otters, singling to shortstop and Fujii touched home plate after a CSUSB throwing error.
The Coyotes offense turned on the heat in the eighth, racking up four of their eight hits to post four runs to take the win.
Junior #Jacob Crose# took the loss after seven innings of action while Josh Lee picked up the win in relief.

The Otters scored both runs in fourth inning which was enough for a 2-1 victory over the Coyotes.
Junior #Randall Packard# led off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Sophomore #Tyler Young#'s single put runners at the corners. Hernandez hit into a fielder's choice while Packard crossed the plate. Fujii picked up his second RBI with a single through the right side.
San Bernardino's lone run came on Day's homer in the sixth inning.
Junior #Aaron Appino# recorded his third win of the season while junior #Paul Brock# registered his fifth save.
