Final Results
TURLOCK, Calif. – After facing a six-stroke deficit when teeing off in Tuesday's final round at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, the No. 12 Cal State Monterey Bay golf team posted the lowest team score of the tournament to capture its fourth tournament crown of the 2010-11 campaign with a 54-hole score of 6-over par 870.
Senior #Scott Yeakel# was the individual medalist with a score of 7-under par 209, becoming CSUMB's fourth different tournament winner this season. Yeakel carded a 68 today after turning in 69 and 72 in yesterday's rounds.
The Otters posted a 6-under par 282 during the championship finale to finish four strokes ahead of host No. 16 Cal State Stanislaus. The top-ranked Chico State Wildcats finished in third place with a 20-over par 884, followed by No. 10 Sonoma State (887) and Holy Names (893).
Sophomore #Dylan Jackson# tied for 14th after a 1-under par 71 performances in today's round. Seniors #Oskar Nystrom# and #John Jackson# tied for 19th with a 222. Junior #D.J. Milligan# also carded an improved score, carding an even-par 72 to finish with a 226 to tie for 34th place.
The Otters next compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Golf Championships at Hunter Ranch in Paso Robles. Last year, CSUMB won the team title and senior
John Jackson was the individual medalist.
