Otters Drop Extra Innings Heartbreaker

SEASIDE, Calif.
– The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team dropped a 9-8 14-inning marathon game against Hillsdale College in non-conference action on Tuesday at Otter Baseball Field.

The Otters fall to 11-13 overall while the Chargers improved to 3-10.

Sophomore #Alex Mangubat# led the Otter offense with three hits and a stolen base.  Senior #Greg Fujii# and junior #Chris LoPiccolo# each had two hits

Ten different Otters saw time on the mound in this outside of the region game. 

With four lead changes and two ties, the Otters scored four runs in the second and seventh innings.  CSUMB had bases loaded with two outs in the 12th and 13th innings but was not able to push the run across the plate.

Junior #Jake Paolinetti# took the loss after three innings of action, surrendering one run on two hits and two walks.  He struck out four batters. 

The Otters return to conference action on Friday, March 25, hosting Cal State Stanislaus at 3 p.m.
