Box Score

SEASIDE, Calif. - Junior #Jared DeCastro#'s and sophomore #Tyler Young#'s three hits each led the Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team to a 10-8 victory over Patten University on a rainy Saturday morning.

The Otters improve to 3-5 overall.

Patten posted four runs in the top of the fourth on four hits and one CSUMB error. 

CSUMB answered with three runs in their half of the frame.  DeCastro led off with a single to third base and moved to third on #Tony Hernandez#'s single.  Back-to-back ground outs scored both runners. #Tyler Young# singled and #Greg Fujii# followed with a double down the left line.  #Ronnie Fhurung#'s single scored Young but Fujii was called out at home.

The Otters racked up four runs in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Patten attempted a rally in the eighth by putting four runs on the board.

CSUMB begins California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Friday, Feb. 25, hosting No. 2 UC San Diego. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
