SEASIDE, Calif. - Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball coach #Renee Jimenez# has announced on Friday the addition of Thousand Oaks High School standout
Jenna Bandy to the 2010-11 Otter roster.
“Jenna is a perfect fit for every aspect of our program,” Jimenez said. “She's an athletic guard who likes to play fast. She has a great feel for the game and does an exceptional job of creating for herself and her teammates.”
In her junior season, Bandy averaged 12.0 points, 7.1 rebounds 2.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game. She was the team co-captain as they went 25-5 overall and finished second in league.
After sitting out her senior year due to injury, Bandy led the East girls' squad to a 69-66 double-overtime victory at Ventura County Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game in June.
Bandy was a two-time All-County and All-Conference first team selection. She was selected MVP and Best Offensive Player by her team after her junior year.
Bandy's older brother Jett is a starting catcher for the University of Arizona Wildcats baseball team and was named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American team.
“Jenna's desire to be great and infectious personality will be a great addition to our team and for the future of our program,” Jimenez said. “We are extremely excited to welcome Jenna and her family to CSUMB and our Otter family.”
