LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay Otters were swept by No. 3 UC San Diego, 10-3 and 9-2, in a conference doubleheader on Friday.
GAME 1 – UCSD 10, CSUMB 3

The Otters trailed 5-0 after four innings. CSUMB got on the board in the top of the fifth on a single by senior #Brent Sargenti#, scoring freshman #Alex Mangubat# and senior #Ryan Chagonjian#.
After the Tritons put a run up in their side of the fifth, the Otters added their last run of the inning. Freshman #Thomas George# grounded out to second base to score freshman #Ronnie Fhurong#.
UCSD scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings as well as two runs in the eighth.
Senior starting pitcher #Justin Aguilera# took the loss after throwing 4.2 innings and allowing six runs. UCSD's Tim Shibuya earned his fourth win after pitching complete nine-inning game.
GAME 2 – UCSD 9, CSUMB 2

The Tritons' offense exploded in the second inning, scoring six runs on seven hits.
UCSD would post three more runs before the Otters got on the board in the sixth inning. Senior #Jacob Flores# connected on a two-run homer over the left field wall, his third of the season.
Despite rain on the horizon, the Otters have a nine-inning game against the Tritons on Saturday.
