BELMONT, Calif. - The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team defeated Montana State-Billings, 77-47, on Saturday night to win the Notre Dame de Namur Tournament.

Junior #Erika Ward# and sophomore #Holly Holcomb# led the Otters with 13 points apiece, each making three baskets from behind the arc.   Senior #Michelle Santizo# added eight points, five rebounds and three assists.  Junior #Brandi Stephens# contributed 12 points, going 5-for-6 in the field.  Junior #Shonetta Crain-Williams# finished with nine points and four rebounds.  Senior #Julie Heurung# recorded a team-high six rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Otters dominated the whole game and held a 37-22 lead at the halftime break.

CSUMB scored 17 points off turnovers while the Otter bench contributed 37 of the 77 points.  The Yellowjackets won the battle on the boards, 35-33.

The Otters tied a program-best by connecting on 11 3-pointers for a 68.8 percentage.  CSUMB shot 62.5 percent from the field while holding the Yellowjackets to a 29.1 percentage.

MSUB was led by Kayla Ryan's 17 points and nine rebounds.

The Otters open their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) season on Wednesday, Nov. 24 against San Francisco State at 2 p.m. at the Kelp Bed.
