SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball fell 84-66 to Humboldt State on Saturday night in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action.
"Tonight was a good test with us against a very good HSU team and we came up short," said head coach #Rob Bishop#. "We still have a long season and a long way to go as a team."
Senior #Shaun Williams# led the Otters with 12 points while freshman #Brandon Ward# added nine points and two assists. Senior #Sean Jergo# pulled down a game-high eight rebounds and freshman #Davion Berry# recorded three steals.
The Otters dominated the board, recording 40 while the Lumberjacks only pulled down 31. CSUMB was haunted by turnovers, finishing with a total of 20 to HSU's 11.
The Lumberjacks were led by Ernie Spada's 21 points and Kevin Atkin's ten points.
"We will be ready to play hard tomorrow," Bishop said.
CSUMB returns to the hardwood on Sunday, Jan 3, welcoming Sonoma State to the Kelp Bed. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.
