SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team dropped a 14-1 decision to Sonoma State on Friday at the Otter Baseball Field.

The Otters took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Senior #Daniel Barras# led off by hitting a ground-rule double to right center.  Junior #Joey Friedman# then laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Barras to third and junior #Brent Sargenti# hit a sacrifice fly to right center to bring Barras across the plate.

Sonoma State took the lead in the fourth by scoring four runs off three hits.   The Seawolves added another run in the sixth inning before racking up nine runs in the eighth.

Starter #Patrick McClain# took his second loss of the season after pitching six innings, allowing five runs on six hits.

The Otters (5-22, 2-11 CCAA) continue their four-game series against the Seawolves on Saturday, March 14 in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
