FIRST PITCH:
The Otters host eight games next week, beginning with a three-game series against Northwest Nazarene on Tuesday, Feb. 10. CSUMB plays Sonoma State in a single game followed by a four-game series against NAIA Oregon Tech over the weekend.

CSUMB closes out its homestand, welcoming UC San Diego for a four-game series beginning on Friday.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS:
Northwest Nazarene (2-0) opened the season with a doubleheader sweep over NAIA Simpson University on Saturday. The Crusaders ended the 2008 season with a 32-22 overall record and 15-17 in the GNAC. Players to watch: Junior second baseman Cory Warburton (.500 avg, 2 2B), junior left-handed pitcher Jon Keller (0.00 ERA, 1 CG, 7.0 IP, 6 SO, 1 H).
SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES:
Sonoma State (5-0) notched two conference weekly honors this week after opening the season with a 3-1 victory over Cal State Stanislaus and earning a four-game sweep over the Otters. Shortstop Leo Avila was named Wilson CCAA Baseball Player of the Week (.714 avg. 1 HR, 4 R, 7 RBI) and junior Cameron Ray was selected Wilson CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week (0.00 ERA, 6.0 IP, 1 BB, 10 SO).
SCOUTING THE OWLS:
Oregon Tech (1-3) prevented a four-game sweep against San Francisco State University with a 4-2 victory in day 2 opener on Sunday, Feb. 8. The Owls wrapped up the 2008 season with a 22-30 overall record and 6-13 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Players to watch: freshman left fielder Mitchell Crim (.444 avg, 4 H, 1 2B, 1 SB); freshman starting pitcher Neil Emerson (0.00 ERA, 6.0 IP, 3 SO, 2 BB, 0 R).
