SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay (0-1) women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision (12-25, 22-25, 25-19, 20-25) to the University of North Dakota (2-0) this afternoon in their opening game of the 2008 Coaches Choice Otter Classic.
Freshman #Rheann Fall# scored a match-high 14 kills, finishing with a .333 hitting percentage. Junior #Alisha Thomas# added 11 kills. Junior #Elizabeth Hanna# registered six total blocks, three solo. Freshman #Dionna Lucas# notched a team-high 14 digs
The Fighting Sioux were led by junior Britta Hanson with 14 kills. Sophomore Erin Joki and freshman Devin Trefex both contributed 11 kills each.
The Otters return to the floor at 8:00 p.m. to square off against Western Oregon University.

University of North Dakota swept the Lumberjacks 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21) in the first match of the day.
UND's Junior Amanda Polzin hit .312 from the middle. Junior Britta Hanson added a match high nine kills. Lumberjack's Lynsey Adams racked in eight kills and five digs. Toni Kroereker notched six kills for the Lunberjacks.
Wayne State played strong offense against Merrimack College in the second game of the Otter Classic. With a rally of (25-21, 25-18, 25-16) the Wayne State Warriors dominated with a total of 43 kills and 53 defensive digs.
Outside Hitter Sarah Gosselin had a hitting percentage of .231 while teammate Lauren Mallast lead with the most defensive digs.
