MORAGA, Calif. --- Cal State Monterey Bay was tied with St. Mary's 6-6 headed into the bottom of the seventh, but St. Mary's scored five in the seventh and five more in the eighth and eventually defeated the Otters 16-7 on Tuesday.
CSUMB starter #Addis O'Connor# pitched four innings and gave up three runs. #Charles Grosser# took the loss, pitching 2/3 of an inning and giving up three runs on two hits and a walk. The Otters used six pitchers in the game. Knuckleballer #Norman Hebert# was the most effective, pitching the final inning without giving up a run, just two hits and a walk.
#Steve Mays# broke out of a little slump and went 3-4 with 3 runs and 2 RBIs for CSUMB. #Matt DeJesus# went 2-3 with 2 runs and an RBI and #Jacob Flores# finished 3-4 with 3 RBIs.
St. Mary's improved to 17-12-1. CSUMB is now 8-30 overall. The Otters will next play Cal Poly Pomona and begin a four-game series at their field on Friday.
