MONMOUTH, Ore. --- Cal State Monterey Bay was swept Friday in the first of two weekend doubleheaders against Western Oregon, losing 10-4, 3-1 at Western Oregon University Field.
#Shea Davis#, #Andrew Marquardt# and #Steve Mays# had two hits each for the Otters in the first game. Starter #Justin Aguilera# (1-5) took the loss, giving up eight runs, only four were earned, in three innings.
The Otters had eight hits in the second game, but couldn't push more than one run across. #Matt DeJesus# and #Rob Van Looy# had two each for the visitors. CSUMB starter Addis O'Connor (2-3), who gave up only one earned run on six hits in six innings of work, took the loss.
The teams will square off again on Saturday in a noon doubleheader. The Otters are now 12-36 overall. The Wolves improved to 32-14 on the season.
