RENO --- The University of Reno-Nevada swept a doubleheader from Cal State Monterey on Tuesday, beating the Otters by a combined score of 40-7 in the two games.

Game one CSUMB starter #Daniel Bifano# gave up 10 runs, all earned, in the first inning and a third before being lifted for #Lucas Allendorf#, who gave up another 10, eight earned, in the next four innings. #Adam Lanthier# then came in and pitched 1 2/3 innings without giving up a run before #Addis O'Connor #pitched the final inning and gave up four more.

CSUMB scored five runs in the second inning. #Andrew Marquardt# started the inning with a double, #Matt Dejesus# hit an RBI-single, a couple of batters walked and #Rob Van Looy# hit a three-RBI triple.

CSUMB compiled seven hits in the second game, but failed to score. #Norman Hebert# started the game for CSUMB and took the loss, giving up 11 runs in the first 2 1/3 innings.
