Sonoma State shuts out Cal State Monterey Bay 10-0

Otters continue to struggle against Seawolves, just like everyone else in the CCAA

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. --- Sonoma State's Matt Means threw seven no-hit innings and his bullpen allowed just one as Cal State Monterey Bay fell 10-0 Friday afternoon at Seawolf Diamond.

Means, the California Collegiate Athletic Association's Pitcher of the Week last week,  extended his no-hit streak to 14 innings. John Bonifacini pitched the last two innings and gave up one hit. The Otters are now 4-8, 2-3 CCAA. All three conference losses are to Sonoma (14-1), ranked 12th in the nation.

#Daniel Bifano# took the loss. He threw 2 2/3 innings and gave up five runs, but just two were earned. #Steve Mays# broke up the no-hitter in the eighth inning. Ian Bridges, the catcher, led the Sonoma offense, going 3-5 with a double, a run and 5 RBIs.

The two teams match up again on Saturday at 11 a.m. for a doubleheader.
