SEASIDE --- Cal State Monterey Bay scored two runs each in the eighth and ninth innings to earn a 10-9 victory Sunday and a 2-2 split in the four games series with visiting St. Martin's University of Lacey, Washington.

After St. Martin's Shane Schoeneberg hit a grand slam off #Adam Lanthier# in the top of the eighth to put his team in front 9-6, the Otters pulled back within a run with four walks, one batter hit by pitch and two wild pitches. In the bottom of ninth, two errors led to two runs without the Otters needing a single hit.

#Michael Trump# pitched a scoreless top of the ninth, struck out two and allowed no hits, to pick up the win. Starter #Patrick McClain# pitched well, giving up two runs on six hits and striking out three in 5.2 innings. CSUMB's #Justin Rios# went 2 for 2 with a run scored. #Matt Dejesus# was 1 for 2 with an RBI double and two runs scored. He was twice hit by a pitch.

CSUMB (2-5) will host CSU Dominguez Hills on Friday. The game begins at 1 p.m. and there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony before it starts to celebrate the new CSUMB Baseball/Softball Complex.
