Volleyball Hosts Tournament To Open 2026

Otters will play three games at invitational this weekend

SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay will kickoff its 2026 schedule by hosting the Otter Invitational Volleyball Tournament Aug. 27-29 in The Kelp Bed. CSUMB will play the University of Sioux Falls (2 p.m.) and Northwest Nazarene University on Friday before hosting Dominican University (2 p.m.) for Saturday's tournament finale.

While Northwest Nazarene and Dominican University are well-known West Region rivals, Sioux Falls will be visiting The Kelp Bed for the first time. In fact, it will be just the second-ever meeting between the Otters and Cougars. USF took the first match by a 3–1 score when both schools were competing at the NAIA level in 2003.

Tournament action begins with Sioux Falls facing Northwest Nazarene Thursday at 5 p.m. A full slate of five matches follows Friday, beginning at 10 a.m. when USF takes on Cal State San Marcos. The Invitational concludes with matches at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets for the Invitational can be purchased online in advance at OtterAthletics.com/tickets. Spectators are strongly encouraged to purchace their parking in advance online at csumb.edu/parking.
