SEASIDE, Calif. — A slow senior day start proved costly as Cal State Monterey Bay fell behind early and couldn't get over the hump in a 12–7 loss to Concordia University Saturday in the Otter Tank.

CSUMB bid farewell to five seniors — Kaya Eaton, Alex Harris, Natalie Mancinelli, Ximena Pichon and Shea Tully — in a moving pregame ceremony recognizing their final collegiate appearance in the Otter Tank. But the opening festivities led to a slow start as Concordia raced to a 4–0 after the opening period.

The teams played to a virtual standstill from that point, but the Otters couldn't climb the mountain. They pulled to within two goals several times, but the Golden Eagles were able to continually hold on to their advantage.

Eaton shined in her final home outing, recording her third hat trick of the season while drawing four exclusions. Pichon also had a big day statistically with a goal and three assists.

Freshman Olivia Gutierrez represented the new generation of Otters with two assists and a pair of steals.

CSUMB hits the road for the final month of the season, starting with rematches at WWPA rivals UC Merced Sunday (Mar. 22) and Fresno Pacific Tuesday (Mar. 24).
