SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team dropped its first home contest of the season, falling to San Jose State, 15-4, Saturday afternoon at the Otter Tank.
CSUMB fired off 28 shots as
Olivia Gutierrez paced the squad with five and scored the first Otter goal of the contest.
Emma Sosa capped off the scoring for Monterey Bay in the second quarter as the Spartans went into the half with an 11-2 advantage.
Kaya Eaton and
Natalie Mancinelli both found the back of the cage in the final quarter. Eaton was credited with three shots.
Marissa White made seven saves in the full 32 minutes of action.
The Otters will head to Redlands to play four games next weekend. CSUMB will play doubleheaders on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7.
