Day Leads Six Otter Women On Academic All-District Team

Autumn Day advances to CSC Academic All-America® ballot

SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay water polo All-American Autumn Day (Murrieta Valley HS) led six Otter women on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced Tuesday.

Day, who will advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, was joined on the all-district squad by teammates Allyson Ainsworth (West Sacramento/River City HS), Abby Delport (Reedley HS/Fresno CC), Meg Gostanian (Visalia/Golden West HS), Ximena Pichon (Clovis HS) and senior women's golfer Tilda Kvarnrud (Mariestad, Sweden).

To earn academic all-district recognition, student-athletes must be at least sophomores who meet specific athletic qualifications while maintaining a minimum 3.50 grade point average.

The polo academic quintuplets bring the number of Otter water polo academic-all-district honorees to nine. They are the first polo players to win the award since Adrianna Craft in 2016.

Day, the only 3-time All-WWPA performer in Otter history, was named CSUMB's Female Athlete of the Year for the 2024-25 academic year. Despite playing only three seasons, she ranks in the Otter career top 10 for points, goals, assists, steals and drawn exclusions. She earned her degree in psychology with a 4.0 grade point average.

Ainsworth, who joined Day on the All-WWPA team in 2025, finished up her degree in biology with a 3.85 GPA. Deport earned her degree in kinesiology this spring while Gostanian claimed hers in environmental studies, with a 3.82 and 3.96 GPAs respectively. Pichon, the lone undergrad of the five, carries a 3.98 GPA as an education major.

Kvarnrud joins McKenna Corriera (2013) as the only Otter women's golfers to be so honored. Kvarnrud, an NCAA West Regional qualifier in 2025, graduated with her degree in social and behavioral science and a 3.88 GPA.

The CSC Academic All-America® team will be announced on July 8.
