SANTA BARBARA – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team finished the CCAA Championships in fifth place. The Otters closed the three-day event with a final score of 106-over 970 at the Sandpiper Golf Club.
 
"Not the finish we were hoping for today," head coach Jim Ragan said. "I was really proud of how we hung in there and kept competing today just like each tournament this spring. Mia had a great round of 74 and finished up with her best tournament of the year. This was a great group of girls to be around and coach. "
 
Sophomore Mia Golovich (Murrieta, Calif. /Murrieta Mesa HS) paced CSUMB all tournament long, placing tied for sixth with a final total of 13-over 229. Golovich closed out the tournament with a final round score of 2-over 74.
 
Senior Tilda Kvarnrud (Mariestad, Sweden) tied for 16^th after carding a third-round score of 9-over 81. She finished the 54 holes with a 23-over 239.
 
Freshman Morgan Pittman (Chico, Calif. Pleasant Valley HS) followed and tied for 19th with a tournament score of 24-over 240. The newcomer carded a final round score of 7-over 79.
 
Sophomore Veronica Cantu-Maher (Sacramento, Calif./Rio Americano HS) finished 29^th with a final round 17-over 89. Over the three days, she shot a 46-over 262.
