AMARILLO – Cal State Monterey Bay senior Tilda Kvarnrud (Mariestad, Sweden) opened the first round of the NCAA West Regional in a tie for 13^th place with a 6-over 77 at the Tascosa Golf Club.
 
"Tilda did a great job today in some really tough conditions," CSUMB head coach Jim Ragan said. "The West Texas wind was blowing 25mph steady with gusts up to 40mph. She adjusted well as the round went on and hit several high-quality shots. Solid opening round and looking forward to tomorrow."
 
Kvarnrud fired a 2-over 37 on the front-nine and tackled the back-nine with a 4-over 40. The All-CCAA selection carded a birdie on the par-5 eighth.
 
The Mariestad, Sweden native will begin round two with a 9:10 am PT tee time.
