Otters Split Doubleheader; CCAA Title on the Line Tomorrow

CSUMB is up 2-1 in the conference deciding series

SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team split its doubleheader on Friday against San Francisco State, winning the first game, 9-6, and then losing the backend, 11-6.
 
GAME 1
 
The Otters used a three-run third to even the score and then poured on four more in the fifth to run away with the victory.
 
Jimmy Garcia had his second three-hit game in the series and Javier Felix, Cole Murchison and Noah Zertuche collected multi-hit games.
 
Henry Proger (5-2) earned the win after throwing 5.2 innings and Drew Aguiar collected the save, striking out three in three and a third.
 
GAME 2
 
The Otters scored three in the first to combat two runs to open the game but the Gators scored six in the fifth and added three more in the sixth to run away with the nightcap.
 
Cole Murchison led the offense with three hits and Jimmy Garcia added another pair to pace the squad.
 
The two teams will finish the series tomorrow at Noon.
