SEASIDE, Calif. – For the first time in over 50 years, the Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team became the first team to win four-straight CCAA regular season titles after tackling San Francisco State, 13-3, Saturday afternoon at the Otter Sports Complex.
The Otters outhit the Gators, 16-7, as six CSUMB players had recorded multi-hit games.
Javier Felix,
Jaden Sheppard, and
Max Farfan all had three-hit outings. Farfan drove in five that included a three-run homer.
Also on his senior day,
Dominic Felice hit a three-run home run that propelled the Otters to the lead in the fourth. CSUMB scored nine runs in the 4-6 innings.
Senior
Mitchell Torres improved to 5-1 on the season after allowing two earned runs on six hits in six innings of work.
Andrew Kotin earned his sixth save after three innings of one-hit relief.
Sheppard started off the scoring with a double to left-center, plating
Jacob Dressler. After Felice drove in three,
Max Farfan broke the game open with a three-run shot in the fifth to hand the Otters a 9-1 lead.
CSUMB celebrated 28 seniors on the final day of the regular season.
The Otters will head to the CCAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed and await their opponent.
