SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team split its doubleheader with Cal State San Marcos on Friday at the Otter Sports Complex. The Otters routed the Cougars, 23-0, in the first game and then fell in extra innings in the nightcap, 6-4.
GAME ONE
The Otters avenged the series-opening loss in a big way by taking the front end of the doubleheader by the score of 23-0. CSUMB scored in all but one inning to run away with the victory.

Javier Felix led the onslaught by batting 4-for-6 with a home run and five RBI.
KW Quilici batted 3-for-5, scored four times, and drove in three.
The reigning CCAA Player of the Week,

GAME TWO
The backend of the doubleheader proved to be the exact opposite of game one as the two teams battled in a pitcher's duel until the latter innings.
Aidan Lee set the tone as he struck out four and allowed just one hit in four innings.
Jacob Parks (0-1) was eventually tagged with the loss after allowing two unearned runs in three innings of relief.
The Otters started the game with a single run as
Evan Stauch brought home
Jacob Dressler. The Cougars would then breakthrough with four runs in the sixth, but the Otters answered with three in the bottom half to eventually move the game to extras.
San Marcos would secure the win with two runs scored in the eighth to retake the series lead.
Dressler continued his hot play at the plate as he paced the Otters with a 3-for-5 effort.
The two teams will close out the series tomorrow at 11 a.m.
