SAN BERNARDINO – Behind the arm of senior
Nate Rohlicek and 15 hits, the Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team took down Cal State San Bernardino, 13-1, Friday afternoon at Fiscalini Field. After the series opening victory, the Otters improve to 17-9 overall and 10-7 in CCAA play.
Rohlicek had his best outing of the season, baffling the Yotes lineup by allowing just one run on five hits, while striking out seven in seven innings.
Ryan Sleeman pitched two scoreless innings of relief to close out the win.
Five Otters recorded multi-hit games as senior
KW Quilici paced the squad with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate, scored three times and added an RBI.
Noah Zertuche smacked a three-run home run and drove in four, while
Max Farfan also drilled a three-run homer.
Senior
Jacob Dressler scored three times and
Sergio Solis and
Jaden Sheppard had two hits apiece as Solis also drove in a pair.
The Otters took a 2-0 lead after three innings and then broke the game open with a four-spot in the fourth. CSUMB would add crooked numbers in the three of the next five innings to pull away from CSUSB.
The two teams will return to action tomorrow for a doubleheader, beginning at Noon.
